Location Information
GENERAL INFORMATION: The trail offers a great deal of variety for a short wilderness hike. The five mile distance between the Bear loop and Morgan trailheads allows a convenient vehicle shuttle. Five minutes from the trailhead is an oak woodland that grows along Morrell Canyon Creek. Along the banks large boulders and grassy areas shaded by large old oak trees provide ideal spots for wildlife watching, sitting, daydreaming or picnicking. The climb from the creek to a low ridge provides vistas of the wilderness towards Sitton Peak and Stewart Ranch (a large private ranch).
