Location Information
Golden Canyon Interpretive Trail lies south of Furnace Creek on Badwater Road. It passes through the northern portion of the Black Mountains. The trail is an easy one-mile path that leads through an interesting canyon. A trail guide, available at the visitor center or trailhead, leads visitors along a stretch of numbered trail markers.

Hikers can reach the Red Cathedral formation by following the left fork of the canyon and hiking one half miles. By hiking one and a half miles past the last trail marker along the right fork you'll reach Zabriskie Point. From Zabriskie Point hike one and a half miles down the main wash, then turn north on Badwater Road to complete the loop back to the trailhead.
