Directions
From Big Stump Entrance, Travel northward on Highway 180 1.5 miles to Generals Highway. Turn right on Generals Highway and drive five miles to the trailhead across the road from the Kings Canyon Overlook.
Location Information
Buena Vista Trail is only two miles long, round trip, but provides excellent views of many natural features in the park. Begin from the parking area across the Generals Highway from the King Canyon Overlook. This is the Buena Vista Trailhead. From this point the trail leads southward and ascends slightly to the summit of Buena Vista Peak, 7,603. Hikers will be rewarded with views of Redwood Canyon, Buck Rock Fire Tower and Kings Canyon.
