Location Information
The Barker Dam Trail leads in a one-mile loop around a natural dam and the lake formed by it. During the Twentieth century the lake was enlarged twice for ranching purposes. Today it remains for use by the natural inhabitants of the area. The trail is easy with little elevation gain. It leads over boulders and through sandy areas. A short spur trail provides an opportunity for visitors to view petroglyphs and a grinding site of Native Americans.
