Location Information
GENERAL INFORMATION: The North Yolla Bolly Lake Trail starts at Rat Trap Gap Trailhead and contours to the west passing through or by several small streams and meadows. At approximately 1 3/4 miles, the trail enters the Yolla Bolly Wilderness and shortly thereafter crosses the South Fork Beegum Creek. From here, the trail climbs in elevation, along a series of steep side hills and rock walls to North Yolla Bolly Lake. Some of these rock walls are dangerous for stock. From North Yolla Bolly Lake, the trail climbs steeply for a short distance to a small ridge top then drops downhill to Pettijohn Basin and its junction with #10W36 (Pettijohn Trail) where it ends. The trail has some moderately steep places and plenty of water.
