Location Information
GENERAL INFORMATION: The easiest trail to Squaw Meadows to find and follow is the one from the old Ski Bowl. Park in the Ski Bowl parking lot and fill out your wilderness permit at the booth in the center of the lot. Then walk up the road that leads past the parking lot to the pad where the ski lodge used to be. At the point where this road joins the lodge pad, you will see a rock-lined trail leading up the bowl to the right. This trail crosses the saddle above Gray Butte and skirts the north side of Red Butte. The distance, one way, is approximately 2 miles.
