Location Information
The Gamma Ridge Trail is a strenuous 6 mile hike or horseback ride within the Glacier Peak Wilderness. The trail begins one mile beyond Skyline Bridge and ends at Gamma Peak. Gamma Ridge sits between Gamma and Dusty Creeks and is one of the easiest and quickest routes to the high country from Upper Suiattle. Climbing gently first, the trail crosses a small stream, then passes through trees and switchbacks steeply up a hill to a ridge crest. Mountain goats are often seen on these grassy slopes. An incredible amount of ripe huckleberries can often be found here in late summer. Camping is allowed in the meadows although there is not any water available.

At 4.5 miles, hikers arrive at a saddle and the trail begins to fade out. Hikers can continue on a high route through meadows to Gamma Peak. This Peak offers one of the finest views in the wilderness.
