Directions
From Verlot, Travel west on the Mt. Loop Hwy. 3.9 miles to Road #41. Turn right and continue on this road for 2 miles to the junction with Green Mountain. Road #4110. Turn right onto this road and continue on for 1.3 miles to another junction with Road #4111. Follow this road for 7.8 miles. One must walk 3 miles on the old road to the trailhead on the left.
Location Information
Canyon Lake Trail is an easy 3.1 mile hike. The trail begins along Canyon Lake Road # 4111 and ends at Canyon Lake. This popular 5 acre lake is close enough to the trailhead to make it an easy portage for a canoe or rubber raft. The lake is surrounded by trees and vegetation with limited campsites along the lakeshore. The fishing is considered fair by most fishermen.
