From Meeker, Lost Lakes trail is located 48 miles east of Meeker. Take the Skinny Fish Trail #1813 1 mile to its junction with Lost Lakes Trail.
Location Information
The Skinny Fish Trail leaves the parking area and climbs steeply for the first 3/4 mile until reaching a relatively flat meadow. The Chinese Wall, a sheer 600-1000 foot cliff, may be seen looking east as the trail follows the open meadow. One mile from the trailhead, the Lost Lakes Trail begins and the Skinny Fish - McGinnis Trail branches off to the right to the lakes bearing those names. The Lost Lakes Trail continues to climb through dense standing beetle killed spruce and green spruce-fir across the shoulder of Lost Lakes Peak. Looking south, the dominant feature is Trappers Lake with the amphitheater directly behind it. The White River valley is visible to the west and Lost Lakes Peak towers to the north. The trail ends at the Chinese Wall Trail (#1803) on the divide between the Williams Fork and White River drainages covering a distance of 4.6 miles. To reach the Lost Lakes turn left or northeast on the Chinese Wall Trail for 1/2 mile to Routt National Forest Trail #1103. Which descends the 1/2 mile to West Lost Lake.
