Location Information
Mt. Forgotten Meadows Trail is a moderate 3.8 mile hike. The trail begins at Perry Creek Road #4063 and ends at the meadows beneath Mt. Forgotten. The trail to Perry Creek Falls is rocky but well defined. It climbs continuously but not steeply through timber and open talus slopes which contain an amazing assortment of ferns in this rich botanical area. Hikers reach the falls at 1.9 miles. Several good campsites are located across Perry Creek. From here, the trail continues, passing through old growth forest for another 1.7 miles where the first meadow is reached. The trail continues through the meadowed area and provides access to the climbing route to Mt. Forgotten. Mt. Forgotten, at elevation 6005 feet, is for the experienced mountain climber. Campsites are limited in the meadows beneath Mt. Forgotten.
