From Yampa, Travel S/SW on County Rd 7 to for approximately 7 miles to FDR 900. Follow FDR 900 for about 4.5 miles to the trailhead located on the north side of the road, about a mile east of the Yamcolo Reservoir Dam.
Location Information
The Ute Trail is located southwest of Yampa in the Bear River Area. The trailhead is along Forest Road 900, just east of Yamcolo Reservoir. The trail leads from the Bear River, north to Bull Park Reservoir and Heart Lake. In addition to foot and horseback travel, it is also open for ATV use. LEAVE NO TRACE As humans, we must minimize our impacts to help preserve this resource for present and future generations.
