USGS Map:  Caribou Lake
Elevation:  8,000 Feet

Directions
From Weaverville, Travel north on Hwy. 3 to Coffee Creek (36 miles). Turn west onto Coffee Creek Rd (County Hwy. 104). Follow this road for about 18 miles to Big Flat Campground.
Location Information
This scenic pair of loops starts off northwest of Weaverville at Big Flat Campground. Combining the lower sections of the old and new Caribou Lake Trails completes a 4.5 mile loop that climbs to 6,350 feet at the intersection of the two trails. From this intersection, the old trail climbs the ridge to 8,000 feet and the new trail contours around the ridge to intersect again and complete the additional 5.5 mile loop. Little Caribou Lake sits at the center of the second loop, while Snowslide Lake is at its apex. By continuing beyond the second loop on Trail 9W18, you will reach first Lower Caribou and then Caribou Lake itself.
