Location Information
Portuguese Peak Trail, located just off Hwy. 93 east of Somes Bar, is a well-suited trail for day trips. This lightly used trail is considered strenuous and is maintained to the standards of trails used by stock. The Portuguese Peak Trail provides access into the high flats of Morehouse and Crapo Meadows. A good area for climbing, the trail passes near the summits of three view-worthy peaks.Only water from developed systems at recreation sites is maintained safe to drink. Most of this entire ridge crest is dry, so carry plenty of water with you.
