Location Information
This trail provides access to the heartland of the beautiful Marble Mountain Wilderness. Many possibilities for both day hikes and overnight trips exist from this trailhead. The first two miles of the Haypress Trail traverse the fir-covered slopes of a small peak before descending into Haypress Meadows and the junction of the Stanshaw and Let'er Buck Trails. From this point Haypress Trail continues on to Halfmoon Meadow. A trail junction here offers a choice of continuing on up Sandy Ridge or taking a lesser traveled trail to Cedar Flat and the surrounding areas of Bridge Creek and Medicine Mountain. From Sandy Ridge the Haypress Trail offers sweeping panoramas of the Marbles to the east and the Siskiyou Mountains to the west with vistas of Marble Rim and Mt. Shasta.

A variety of spectacular wildlife, birds, and fish can be seen throughout this area. There are also abundant wildflowers and berries which can be found in the meadow systems following snow melt and on into mid-August.

Although camping sites are limited at this popular trailhead, drinking water is available from a developed system and a disabled accessible toilet is located at the trailhead. There is plenty of parking as well as public hitching rails for pack and saddle stock.
