Location Information
The area is characterized by a deep network of steep, rugged canyons of Tonto and Haigler Creeks, which contain some awesome rock formations and deep emerald pools. The name "Hells Gate" is derived from the deep and jagged gorge which bears this name. Wildlife include deer, elk, bobcat and mountain lion, black bear and javelina. Tonto and Haigler Creeks offer high quality cold water fishing opportunities. Caution should be used when using this trail in the summer heat. Carry an adequate supply of drinking water.
