Location Information
GENERAL INFORMATION: The Johnston Ridge Trail offers Wilderness access along a nine mile, difficult trail. Prior to the June 1992 wilderness legislation, this was a popular motorcycle trail. It is now open only to horseback riders and hikers. From the trailhead at Mutau Flat, located on the Mt. Pinos Ranger District, it is a steep drop down into the Sespe. There is no water and little shade along the trail.
