From Shaver Lake, Take primary Forest Route 40 south. The picnic area is located north of the Botanical Area.
Location Information
The picnic ground is located in close proximity to the McKinley campground and Sequoia Grove. At an elevation of 6200 feet, this campground has ten sites. There are vault toilets at the picnic ground, but no water. This botanical area nearby offers a paved nature trail that winds through the towering redwoods and is accessible for persons with disabilities. Picnic tables and restrooms are available.
