Directions
From Leadville, From Harrison Street turn on to West Sixth Street to County Road 4. Make a right on to County Road 4, at the "T", and drive to County Road 9 and the Sugarloaf Dam Site. From the Dam turn right on to Turquoise Lake Road (County Road 9). Take your first left toward the Silver Dollar Campground. Maid of Erin Family Picnic Ground will be the first site on your left.
Location Information
Maid of Erin Picnic Ground is located on the eastern shore of Turquoise Lake neighboring the Matchless Boat Ramp, Molly Brown Campground, Silver Dollar Campground and the Sugarloaf Dam. This site provides access to Turquoise Lake as well as the surrounding terrain. Recreation opportunities include, but are not limited to the following activities: fishing, water sports, canoeing, hiking & walking, mountain biking, four-wheel driving, motorcycling and horseback riding. Picnic season begins in May and continues to October. The grounds are equipped with tables, toilets, fireplaces and trash collection. Camping is prohibited in these areas. They are restricted to day-use only. All picnic grounds close at 10:00 p.m.
