Access to Agate Creek begins from the now closed Agate Creek Campground. The abandoned campground lies approximately three miles north of Sargents, on the south side of the road. Agate Creek Trail, 484, follows the creek for seven miles to its headwaters. (You may also gain access to the creek approximately three miles north of the campground on Highway 50.)
