Directions
From Nevada City, Travel east on Hwy. #20 for approximately 19 miles and turn left onto Primary Forest Route #18. Travel north fo approximately 3 miles and past the picnic ground. The lake will be on the right.
Location Information
Rucker Lake is located approximately 3.5 miles north of Bear Valley Picnic Ground. Rucker Lake contains a special strain of rainbow trout called redband trout. Redband trout do well in the warmer water of shallow Rucker Lake. In 1985, 2,100 redband fingerlings were planted. Current reports indicate they are doing well. Although a very popular lake with the public, camping sites are very limited and there are no toilet facilities. Day use only is recommended. The roaded side of the lake is available to public access.
