From Truckee, Travel west on Hwy. #80 and follow signs to the Donner Memorial State Park. Cold Creek runs just east of the state park, by the equestrian facilities.
Location Information
Cold Creek runs west of Truckee, just east of the state park, by the equestrian facilities. This stream and surrounding property were recently acquired by the State. The State plans to restrict driving into the area. Public access will be allowed by hiking along a trail. Rainbow and brown trout populate reaches of the creek. Brook trout inhabit reaches of the headwaters. Midsummer water levels are too low to support fish.
