Nichols Reservoir, another anglers favorite, is located east of Rampart

Public access to Nichols Reservoir is by foot only and is accessed by trail (.5 miles long) from the parking area at Dikeside Boat Ramp. This area is only for day-use fishing, and camping is not permitted at this reservoir. Many special rules apply to this fishing site because it is a reservoir for public drinking water.
