Directions
From Lake City, Drive south about ten miles on Highway 149 toward Creede. Turn left at the Slumgullion Campground onto Forest Road 788 and travel three miles to Deer Lake Campground. Turn left and follow the road about one mile to Deer Lakes.
Location Information
Deer Lakes lies west of Lake City along Forest Service Road 788. The Deer Lakes Campground is located in the immediate vicinity of the lakes. There is also easy access to the Powderhorn and La Garita Wilderness areas from Deer Lakes. The lakes are a series of small, man-made reservoirs that offer good to excellent fishing for rainbow trout.
