Location Information
Oh-Be-Joyful Creek enters the Slate River six miles north of Crested Butte. This small stream is six to eight feet wide and travels through some beautifully scenic country. It supports brook trout and fair fishing. During the last few years it has also become a creek for kayaking. Some brave souls have run the waterfalls of the Oh-be-joyful headwaters. To reach the headwaters of Oh-Be-Joyful a four-wheel drive vehicle is needed. Any vehicle can reach the confluence of this creek and Slate River on State River Road.
