Location Information
The South Fork Campground is considered part of the Foothills area of Sequoia National Park. The terrain surrounding the facility has similar plant and animal communities and a low elevation (3,600 feet) compared to the mountainous regions of the park. The South Fork area is generally dry and warm although the South Fork Kaweah River leads through it.

The campground consists of 10 sites open year round with limited facilities in winter. Each campsite includes a picnic table and fire pit with grill. Campground amenities include pit toilets, but no drinking water. Next to the campground is the South Fork Ranger Station where backpackers and horse packers can obtain wilderness permits.
