From Meeker, Hill Creek camping area is located 31 miles east of Meeker at the Hill Creek Trailhead. Take State Highway 13 east out of Meeker for one mile; turn right on County Road 8 and travel 18 miles; then turn right on County Road 10 (South Fork Road) and travel10 miles. Turn left on the Hill Creek Road and travel 1 mile to the camping area.
Location Information
Hill Creek Campground is located 31 miles east of Meeker in the South Fork White River drainage, at an elevation of 8,000 feet. It is an undeveloped camping area with a toilet. The access road is steep and rough so four-wheel drive vehicles are recommended. RV's and trailers are not recommended. The Hill Creek Trail #2255, Fowler Creek Trail #2256 and Peltier Lake Trail #1826 begin near the camping area. Facilities: The campsites are not developed. A pit toilet and horse hitching rails are the only facilities. The nearest additional facilities are located at the South Fork Campground, approximately 4 miles south.
