Location Information
Hancock Campground rests on the shores of East Branch at the confluence with Pemigewasset River and Hancock Branch. Coldwater fishing is very popular at this location. There is also a large area for river swimming. No reservations are taken at this campground that offers vault toilets and hand-pump water. Thirty-five of the 56 sites accommodate RVs. This year-round campground is popular with downhill and cross-country skiers. The three mountain peaks due north of the campground are Potash Knob (nearest to highway), behind it is Whaleback Mountain and to its west is Big Coolidge Mountain.
