Location Information
Base camp of the Salmon and Klamath Rivers, Oak Bottom is sequestered 2 miles off the highway on the scenic Salmon River Road (Hwy 93) near the hamlet of Somes Bar. This densely wooded plateau rises gradually above the coool waters of the Salmon River. In this Special Place the "Caw" of the Stellar jay, the staccato tapping of the redheaded wood pecker, and the scolding of the grey squirrel are the only sound echoing through the Salmon River Canyon. This spot provides access to Class 2&3 rapids downstream.

The campground has 26 sites that accommodate tents or RV's up to 30 ft. Toilets and drinking water are provided.
