Directions
From Oakhurst, Take Highway 41 north out of town and follow this road for approximately 11 miles until you reach forest road 6S07. Take this road east for about four miles until you reach the campground.
Location Information
Big Sandy, at an elevation of 5800 feet, is located in the heart of the Mariposa Ranger District. The Campground has 18 sites with vault toilets on the grounds, but no potable water. The campground does require a fee. There is much hiking and fishing in close proximity to the campground. The nearby Fresno Dome can provide a spectacular view of the area. Nelder Grove, a grove of giant Sequoias is just to the south.
