Location Information
This campground, at 6,600 feet above sea level, is set amongst the greenest trees with a great cave nearby. Located in the Historic High grade Mining District, this is the kind of remote back country place to rest and gather your thoughts.

Cave Lake is available for a chilly swim or boating with small non-motorized boats, canoes, or kayaks. Fishing can be good in the Cave Lake, so don't forget your fishing gear and license. There are numerous hiking trails in the area including the California Back Country Trail.

Another interesting activity in this area is rocking collecting. Obsidian can be found around the area, although make sure you stay out the the abandon mines and remember to get your permit before you collect your rocks!

Supplies can be purchased in New Pine Creek, OR, Ft. Bidwell, CA. or at Davis Creek, CA. The nearest 24 hour services and hospital are located in Alturas, CA.
