From Alturas, To access Jane's Reservoir head west on299. Turn North on county 73 and go past Big Sage and Reservoir C. Continue north on Co. Rd. #73 ( 20 miles past the reservoir C turn-off ) to the Jane's Reservoir turn-off, turn west and travel 0.25 miles to the Jane's Reservoir Dam and campground.
Location Information
Jane's Reservoir is a remote campground that is fairly easy to get to. Located at 5,000 feet and 25 miles north of Alturas, Jane's has great fishing and boating. A boat ramp is located at the reservoir. The Reservoir is a discovery point on the California Back Country Trail. The Modoc Segment of this multi-state route consists of over 200 miles of roads designed for touring with your family in your Sports Utility Vehicle. The Reservoir is near the home range of the Devil's Garden wild horse heard. The area is rich with opportunities to view antelope and migrating waterfowl. The campground has no potable water, so make sure you bring your own. The campground is also on a first come, first serve basis. Each campsite has picnic tables and fire pits.
