From Payson, Travel 21 miles northeast on highway 260.
Location Information
Christopher Creek is a campground and picnic area located in the central portion of the state about 80 miles north of Phoenix. There are 43 campsites and 6 picnic facilities with other campgrounds in the vicinity. Trout fishing is available in the nearby Tonto Creek and there are several hiking trails nearby. The creek is also a great place for water play and just plain cooling off. The area is wooded and sits at an elevation of 5600 feet. There is drinking water in the campground and vault toilets are nearby as well.
