Location Information
Camping is not restricted to the developed campgrounds. Those who prefer solitude and privacy may camp anywhere within the Forest boundary, without a fee. There are some restrictions, however. Camping is not permitted in the meadows or within 1/2 mile of developed campgrounds, and is not advisable along main highways. Arizona Game and Fish Department regulations prohibit camping within 1/4 mile of water sources. People camping away from developed campgrounds are reminded to park their car out of the way of passing traffic. The route to the viewpoint takes you on a scenic drive of the east rim of the plateau into House Rock Valley past the House Rock Wildlife Area. Rolling pinyon-juniper woodlands crisscross the range as you drive in the shadow of the massive Kaibab Plateau. Buck Farm Overlook offers a spectacular view into Marble Canyon, with the Vermilion Cliffs to the north and Navajo Mountain on the eastern horizon.
