Directions
From Payson, Travel 33 miles east on State Route #260. Turn Right on Young Road, Forest Route #512, and continue for 3 miles to FR #33. Turn left on FR #33 and travel for 5 miles to the site.
Location Information
This campground of dispersed units is set in an open stand of mature ponderosa pine. Just moments away, a visitor can be fishing for trout in Canyon Creek. Nearby Arizona Game and Fish Department's Canyon Creek Fish Hatchery has a self guided tour. Wildlife include; Abert squirrel, black bear, mountain lion, elk, turkey and deer.

Both FR 512 and 33 are unpaved roads. Four wheel drive or chains advised after heavy rains or snow. Bear proof your camp, especially foodstuffs. Canyon Creek is restricted to article flies and lures only.
