From Douglas, Take Leslie Canyon Road north to Rucker Canyon. Stay on the main road, which becomes Forest Road #74. Continue on Forest Road #74 to Forest Road #74E. Turn left on #74E and follow signs to Rucker Lake. Bathtub Campground is about 6 miles up this road.
Location Information
Bathtub Campground was named for the bathtub-like formations worn into the ledge which forms the Rucker streambed just adjacent to the camping area. The campground itself, located on a forested bench, overlooks Rucker Lake. The lake's cold waters provide excellent rainbow trout habitat. Campsites here are shaded by a stand of Apache and Chihuahua pines with a few yuccas scattered about as a reminder of the nearby desert. All 11 sites are walk-in only.
