From Placerville, Travel 20 miles east on Highway 50, take Sly Park Road south 5 miles to Jenkinson Lake. Cross the dams on Jenkinson Lake, putting you on Mormon Emigrant Trail (Iron Mountain Road). Go 9 miles, turn right on North South Road, go 5 miles to the campground.

Sitting at an elevation of 5,200 feet Capps Crossing Campground is located adjacent to the north fork of the Cosumnes River. In addition to offering camping facilities, the site provides close access to fishing and gold panning.On site facilities: 11 camping units ( 1 double ), vault toilets, picnic tables and drinking water.
