From Mulberry, Take Arkansas Hwy. 215 (paved) north for 15 miles, continue on Forest Service Road 1505(gravel) for 8 miles, continue on Forest Service Road 1003 (gravel) for 2 1/2 miles.
Location Information
With rugged mountain scenery (at an altitude of 2260 feet) as a backdrop, this area, located in the Northwestern portion of the state, has spectacular bluffs which encircle the mountain rim trails and offer panoramic views. This area also provides access to the Ozark Highlands Trail. On a clear day a person can see 40 miles. The climate is cool in the summer and appropriate dress is recommended. This scenic area is surrounded by high bluffs. Camping in this area consists of 8 tent or recreational vehicle sites (with no hookups) , as well as 3 rental cabins which feature stone fireplaces and original furniture. The three natural-stone cabins and the lodge on White Rock Mountain were built in the 1930's by the Civilian Conservation Corps. The CCC was formed during the Great Depression by Franklin D. Roosevelt. The lodge can accommodate up to 30 people a night and is accessible by the disabled, there is a users fee charged for the cabins and lodge. Those who choose to camp have tent pads, fire pits, access to chemical toilets and drinking water. Picnicking facilities are available as well, with 8 family units.
