Location Information
The Red Rocks Group Campground is located 4 miles north of Woodland Park on Colorado Highway 67. This is an all-weather road so it is accessible for all types of vehicles. This area is developed for group camping but may be reserved for day-use at the overnight-use rate.

The elevation of the campground is 8,200 feet. The weather is generally mild with warm days and cool nights. Summertime highs are around 80 degrees with the nighttime lows around 45 degrees. Afternoon thunderstorms are a common occurrence. The spring and fall weather is usually dry and sunny with highs around 70 degrees and the lows around 30 degrees. The recreation-use season is from end of April through October.

Hiking is the main attraction found in the area. The Red Rocks
trail-# 612 leads to nearby unusual and scenic red sandstone rock
formations. These are enjoyable to view but users are cautioned that they
are not safe for climbing. Please caution any children in your group of
this danger. An asphalt-surfaced bicycle trail #669, approximately 4.2 miles long connects all of the campgrounds and Manitou Park Recreation Area.

The site has a capacity of 125 people. Facilities include tables, fireplaces, vault-type toilets, drinking water, campfire circle, and garbage dumpsters. Firewood and a shelter are not provided.

Reservations are required; reserve through the BIOSPHERIC'S
national reservation system by calling 1-800-280-CAMP(2267). A $17.35
nonrefundable reservation fee will be charged. Reservations can be made up to 360 days of your first night of arrival, or as late as 5 days prior
to your arrival. Reservations are at the same rates for either day-use or
overnight. During the summer, the site receives heavy use on the weekends and holidays. For this reason, reservations should be made as early as possible to reserve the dates you desire.
