From Steamboat Springs, Go west on US Hwy 40 to County Road 129. Travel 20 miles north on County Road 129 to Seedhouse road, just beyond Clark. Go northeast on the Seedhouse road (Forest Road 400) about 6 miles, then south 1/2 mi on the Reed Creek Road (Forest Road 440).

Hinman Campground is located 27 miles north of Steamboat Springs on the Elk River at an elevation of 7,600 feet. This campground is in a wonderful area for stream fishing and wildlife viewing.Facilities: Hinman Campground has 13 campsites with tables and fireplace grates, a water system (seasonal), vault toilets, dumpsters, and pull-thru trailer spaces (under 22 feet).
