Directions
From Steamboat Springs, Travel 2 miles north of Steamboat Springs on Routt County Road 36 (Strawberry Park Road), then 13 miles northeast on Routt County Road 38 (Buffalo Pass Road).
Location Information
Summit Lake Campground is located 15 miles northeast of Steamboat Springs, on Buffalo Pass, at an elevation of 10,300 feet. A high clearance vehicle is recommended for the Buffalo Pass Road, which accesses the campground.

Fishing is available on Summit Lake, however, only hand powered craft are permitted. This is an access to major trailheads into the Mt. Zirkel Wilderness Area. A day use fee is charged to park in the two day use area parking lots provided for the visitor to use while fishing or picnicking.

Facilities:

Summit Lake Campground has 16 campsites with tables and fireplace grates, a water system (seasonal), and vault toilets. No trash service is available. Pack-it-in, Pack-it-out policy! The maximum spur length is 22 feet.
