From Foresthill, Travel 36 miles east on Mosquito Ridge Rd. and proceed to the campground. The campground is located on the northwest shore of the reservoir and is accessible only by boat or trail. It is approximately one mile from the McGuire parking lot to the campground.

Poppy Campground is located on the northwest shore of French Meadows Reservoir at an elevation of 5,300 feet. The campground is only accessible by boat or trail, it is approximately one mile from McGuire parking lot to the campground.This campground has 12 campsites. There are no toilets, no drinkable water and no trash removal service so pack out what you pack in. The Reservoir is the only water source so be sure to purify before drinking.
