Directions
From Arnold, Travel 20 miles east to Big Meadow Group Campground on Highway 4. If approaching from the north travel nine miles southwest of Lake Alpine on Highway 4.
Location Information
This scenic campground is located within a mature conifer forest of Red Fir and Lodgepole Pine, with scatteredQuaking Aspen at 6,500 feet. Sites are large, private and shady. Natural granitic rock outcrops are scattered throughout. TheCampground is located adjacent to Highway 4, some traffic noise may be apparent in individual sites close to the Highway. Swimming and fishing for wild (non-stocked) Brown and Rainbow Trout is available in the North Fork Stanislaus River, via a 3/4 mile unmaintained trail.

It has sixty-five sites available, tables, fireplaces, 23 trailer spots, vault toilets and piped water.
