From Steamboat Springs, Travel west of town to Road 129, Elk River Road. Go north on 129 , 30 miles, just beyond Columbine to Forest Road 550. Go 3 miles north on Forest Road 550, then 2 miles east on Forest Road 500, then 1 mile south on Forest Road 402.
Location Information
The Farwell North Trailhead is located north of Steamboat Springs and east of Columbine. This trailhead provides access to trail #1203, which then links to Forest Road 409, a four-wheel drive road. Trail #1203 is open to motorcycles, ATVs and snowmobiles.
