Directions
From Steamboat Springs, Travel west of town to Road 129, Elk River Road. Go north on 129 , 30 miles, just beyond Columbine to Forest Road 550. Go 2 miles east on FDR 500,1 mile east on FDR 505, then 2 miles northeast on FDR 520.
Location Information
The Hare Trailhead is located north of Steamboat Springs and east of Columbine. It provides access to trail #1199, which links to the Wyoming Trail #1101. Both trail 1199 and this section of trail 1101 are open to motorized travel such as motorcycles, ATVs and snowmobiles. Portions of the trails in this area may be affected by the large scale tree blowdown of October 1997.
