From Lake George, Spruce Grove Campground & Trailhead are located approximately 13 miles northwest of the small town of Lake George, Colorado. Visitors may reach the campground by taking Highway 24 northwest out of Lake George for 1 mile to County Road 77. Travel approximately 12 miles through Tarryall City and the site is located on the east side of the road.
Location Information
Spruce Grove Campground & Trailhead are located approximately 13 miles northwest of the small town of Lake George, Colorado. Visitors may reach the campground by taking Highway 24 northwest out of Lake George for 1 mile to County Road 77. Travel approximately 12 miles through Tarryall City and the site is located on the east side of the road.

This site is located on Tarryall Creek and within 20 miles of Elevenmile State Recreation Area and Reservoir; and it is within 8 miles of Tarryall State Wildlife Area and Reservoir. It is also adjacent to the Lost Creek Wilderness and is a trailhead for Wilderness access. The parking area can hold up to 20 cars and may be used by both hikers and anglers.

The Lizard Rock Trail leaves the trailhead and reaches the Lost Creek Wilderness boundary within 2.5 miles. From this trail hikers and horseback riders may gain access to Brookside McCurdy Trail, Lake Park Trail and Hankins Pass Trail.
