From Buena Vista, Drive 11 miles west on Highway 306 (Cottonwood Pass) to the trailhead.
Location Information
Denny Creek Trailhead is located 12 miles west of Buena Vista on Cottonwood Pass (County Road 306), which is paved on the eastern side. This trailhead provides paved parking for approximately 25 vehicles. There is a vault toilet and information board at the site. None of the facilities are accessible for wheelchairs at this time. The nearest public telephone, fire, and emergency services are located in Buena Vista.

This site serves as a major trailhead for access to the Collegiate Peaks
Wilderness Area. The trails made accessible by this trailhead are as follows: Hartenstein Trail, Browns Pass Trail and the Mt. Yale Trail. Hikers and backpackers use this trailhead extensively during the summer months. Snowmobilers use this area mainly during early and late winter months as a trailhead.
