Directions
From Buena Vista, Drive 12 miles north of Buena Vista on Highway 24. Turn west on to Forest Road 123. Travel approximately 2 miles on this gravel road to the trailhead. High-clearance vehicles are recommended for travel on this road.
Location Information
Pine Creek Trailhead provides access to Collegiate Peaks Wilderness, Colorado Trail (1776), Pine Creek Trails (1467), South Pine Creek Trail (1458), Frenchman Creek Trail (1457) and Missouri Gulch Trail (1469). The hiking trails accessed by this trailhead exist in high elevations; the lowest being 9,100'. Various mining sites dot the landscape visible from these trail, reminding users of the industrial economy that initially brought settlers to the area.
