From Gunnison, Travel north on Highway 135 to Almont. Then go seventeen miles north on Taylor River Road to Lottis Creek Campground and through the campground on Union Canyon Road (four wheel drive only) for one half mile to the trailhead.
Location Information
South Lottis Trailhead lies immediately south of Lottis Creek Campground. Access to it may be gained from Taylor River Road in the Taylor Canyon. The trailhead provides access to the Fossil Ridge Wilderness and directly, South Lottis Trail. This trailhead is used year round for horseback riding, hiking, backpacking, cross-country and backcountry skiing and snowshoeing.
