From Steamboat Springs, Travel west of town on HWY 40 to Road 129, Elk River Road. Go north on 129 approximately 5 miles to the trailhead.
Location Information
The Mad Creek Trailhead is located north of Steamboat Springs, along Elk River Road. This trailhead provides direct access to the Swamp Park Trail #1100. From trail #1100, one can connect to numerous other trails including trail #1140, the Elk Park Trail #1118, the Red Dirt Trail #1171, the Luna Lake Trail #1168, and the Roaring Fork Trail #1166. Several of these trails are described in the Trails section.
