Tolmie State Park covers 106 acres, with 1,800 feet of saltwater shoreline beach on Nisqually Reach. Marine amenities include five mooring buoys and an underwater park located on Puget Sound.

Other park amenities include 3.4 miles of hiking trail, 42 picnic sites, a kitchen/bathhouse/comfort station, a kitchen/comfort station and parking for 60 vehicles.

The park is part of the Marine Parks and Boat Moorage system. Though fees are not currently charged, call (360) 753-5771 for a fee update as all fees are subject to change.

Picnicking, beach walking, clamming and fishing are enjoyed in the park.

The low rolling hills and sheltered inland salt water that make up the Puget Sound basin produce a mild, marine climate characterized by wintertime clouds, rain, and sometimes a light snow, but lots of summertime sunshine.

Maximum winter temperatures are in the mid- to high 40s with minimum temperatures in the mid 30s. Summers are warm with maximum and minimum temperatures in the mid 70s and low 50s, respectively. This area averages 51 inches of precipitation per year.
